What is Pelotonia?

What started as a bike ride for charity has turned into a movement.

Pelotonia began in 2008 as a bike ride to help raise money for innovative cancer research. Now, 12 years later, Pelotonia has grown into a 3-day cycling event every August- full of community, commitment and volunteerism.

In it's first 12 years, Pelotonia has raised more than $217 million for cancer research.

Riders who participate in the event are encouraged to raise money - and spread awareness - for the work being done at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. 100% of funds raised go toward cancer research.

So... what does this challenge have to do with Pelotonia?

As participants in Pelotonia 2021, we are committed to raising funds for the work being done in cancer research. Each year, we try to find unique and effective ways to involve our community, friends and family in the movement. The proceeds from these challenges will help us meet our fundraising commitments and continue to support the mission of Pelotonia.
